RIP Gene Hackman

Today's great idea: I found an official school cafeteria recipe book from the 80s online. So, I made school lunch for dinner: pizza, a fruit cup, some frozen corn, milk, and green Jello. In retrospect, I probably should have gone with a Hoodsie Cup instead of the Jello.

... (it wasn't good, BTW)

Happy Halloween and thank you for flying MBTA
@straphanger In Switzerland, I was able to use a transit pass on a ski lift!
@LilahTovMoon Often found paired with an "L.A. Face" hat.
@fuck_cars_bot FWIW, there's a new bridge scheduled to open in about a year or so which will have a ped/bike connection between the two cities. The bridge will be appx. 10km downstream of downtown, I believe.

@KolaMagpie There's a pretty great video series on "The Essence of Linear Algebra". It's not meant to be a comprehensive course -- it won't teach how to solve problem sets or do proofs, etc. But, I think it does an excellent job illuminating the big-picture concepts. Just in case you're interested...

@universalhub I worked at a record store in 1996 when Metallica's "Load" album came out. A co-worker carefully placed sale stickers over the band name such that only "lica" was still visible. "If they're gonna take the metal out of their music, then I'm gonna take it out of their name too" he said.
