Gen AI hasn't really broken barriers in terms of creativity but it has certainly lowered barriers for what we accept as creative production. Why are people accepting mediocrity and slop so readily?
@GossiTheDog was anyone actually expecting a smooth launch after the hype?

@b9AcE don't worry Google will hire an indie artist to draw a nice artwork for their landing page on Earth Day because they care so much
@freakazoid from my experience that sounds similar some of the visual scripting tools we use. Grasshopper is popular amongst architects because one sequence of digits can represent anything from demographic data to physical description of a building depeending how you connect components and thereby change how everything is transcoded downstream. In some of my scripts I even throw in UI components to create interfaces or maybe some PDF generation logic. All driven by the same dataset at the very beginning.
@timnitGebru any other nation going through even half of the atrocities would have had NATO forces on ground by now.

I get how people are paranoid about all these tech companies tracking behavior patterns and web activities. But like....do you feel heartbroken when your algo doesn't really "know" you?

I mean @searchliaison come one if you knew anything about me by now you'd know that when I search for KFC in Maps I mean fried not Football Club....kinda obvious. Also......

It's like you don't know me at all! *runs off into room like an edgy teen to listen to whatever punk is left now*

@GossiTheDog super excited. Previous FS was impressive enough and no one was expecting such a huge leap. Totally agree. It's like they created an actual multiverse by mistake. Career mode is going to make it huge. People had to improv with mods, tools or just rp for immersion. Can't wait for it.
Always expected a competing search engine to replace Google but never imagined Google spending millions to kill their own product.
@irene Tencent show did skip that. Netflix version at least depicted the scene as described in the books. The Chinese show isn't perfect but the Netflix one is just too watered down. Misses the tone of cosmic dread and helplessness.
