"Our AI has messed up completely"
No. You messed up completely. Twice. Once by generating an article using AI in the first place, and the second time by not even fact checking the damn thing.

The public meeting demanded by the anti-bike-lane Confederation of Greater Hobart Businesses just voted overwhelmingly to support the council's proposed Collins Street tactical trial (which includes safe, separated bike lanes). The confederation will no doubt find some way to spin this, but there's no hiding from the fact that they couldn't even muster a majority for the very meeting they demanded.
If they continue with their demand for an elector poll, it will be another humiliating defeat for them and a waste of Hobart rate payer money.
I am loving that things are finally moving to make European countries less dependent on US software (especially cloud providers), but I am disappointed that there isn't more of a focus on open source software.
There are several government programs within EU counties to fund the development of open source software. We need WAY more of that, coordinated at the EU level.
The best way to avoid being beholden to big tech is to fund viable open source alternatives.

A few weeks ago we hosted a #garden visit for our local Food Garden Group at our home in #Glenorchy. It was great to show off our hard work and received a lovely write-up by Laura on the group's blog: https://fggextra.blogspot.com/2025/01/visit-glenorchy-libby-tim-2025.html?m=1
