Hello everyone, welcome to my corner of the web!

I’m blind since birth, perceiving only light and shadows. Music is one of my passions I love singing and listening to it. I’m also fond of reading and writing, and a big fan of NFL football and MLB baseball.

Animals are a joy for me, especially dogs, cats, and all sorts. My guide dog, Vicki Jo, a black lab-golden retriever mix, is my fourth. I have a dilute calico cat named Chloe.

I’m in a wonderful relationship, with my partner soon moving in

Hi everyone—long time no see. No big reason I’ve been quiet; life’s just been busy. I wanted to pop in with a quick update because there’s a lot of good stuff happening.

Josh has been living with me for almost a year and a half now, and we’re both really happy. In August we moved from Oak Terrace Apartments to Oak Park Apartments. We’ve got a two-bedroom with our own outside entrance, and the extra space has been great.

My nephew Richie (29) has been staying with us for about six weeks—close to two months now—and it’s going well. The pets are good too: Vicki Jo and Lou are doing great, and Chloe the cat is her usual self.

I’m recovering from a chest cold, and my voice is pretty much gone, so no choir for me tomorrow. Josh and I are still going to church, just not singing this week—since we missed Wednesday rehearsal and the men’s part sounded tricky, he’s sitting it out too. Honestly, it’ll be nice to sit with the congregation and just listen for a change.

That’s the update. Hope you’re all doing well, and I’ll try not to wait so long between posts next time.

@augieray I don't believe Trump cares. I think he's out for the wealthy and doesn't really care. He is so over inflated with ego that he thinks he can do whatever he wants.

@QasimRashid I’m visually impaired, and I actually pay for my iPhone monthly because it’s the only way I can afford it. For me, it’s not a luxury — it’s essential. I’ve tried Android, and while it’s usable for some, it just doesn’t work as smoothly with screen readers. The iPhone’s VoiceOver feature reads my apps, texts, and labels on products — I can scan a box from my cupboard to find out what it is. It’s my eyes, my weather alert system, my way to stay connected.

It’s all about priorities. My fiancé and I don’t have cable TV or a landline. We have internet and a couple of low-cost streaming services, and even those we’ve cut back on. For us, the phone stays — because without it, a lot of daily life simply wouldn’t be possible. For many of us with disabilities, technology isn’t an extra; it’s independence.

Never take seriously those who ridicule low income people for having a smartphone or laptop.

“If they’re so poor how did they buy an iPhone???”

Because they’re trying to escape poverty, not the 1700s, genius. If you think basic tech access is luxury, survive a month without it.

@Lynn Hi Lynn! Where did you get that book? I'm very interested in that. Did you get on Bookshare or Kindle?
@lynnskyi Oh totally no problem Lynn. Yeah it's me Vicki. How have you been doing? Josh has been here a little over a year now he was here a year in May 26. And it was a rough year. But things are looking up we're gonna be moving into a two bedroom pretty soon. We're just waiting on some paperwork From Rural Development. And as soon as we sign that paperwork will be able to move into the place. It's owned by the same company that owns this place so that makes things easier.
@lynnskyi Hey Lynn, it's Vicki not Nicki I don't know if you wrote that by accident. Making sure you know who you're talking to. 🙂
@lynnskyi Hey Lynn! I haven't been out here in a while. But I thought I'd come out and see what's going on. I even had to reset my password out here. Has it been so long since I was out here.
I haven't been out here in so long! I actually had to reset my password. So anyway I hope everyone's doing well.
