Hello everyone, welcome to my corner of the web!

I’m blind since birth, perceiving only light and shadows. Music is one of my passions I love singing and listening to it. I’m also fond of reading and writing, and a big fan of NFL football and MLB baseball.

Animals are a joy for me, especially dogs, cats, and all sorts. My guide dog, Vicki Jo, a black lab-golden retriever mix, is my fourth. I have a dilute calico cat named Chloe.

I’m in a wonderful relationship, with my partner soon moving in

Hi everyone—long time no see. No big reason I’ve been quiet; life’s just been busy. I wanted to pop in with a quick update because there’s a lot of good stuff happening.

Josh has been living with me for almost a year and a half now, and we’re both really happy. In August we moved from Oak Terrace Apartments to Oak Park Apartments. We’ve got a two-bedroom with our own outside entrance, and the extra space has been great.

My nephew Richie (29) has been staying with us for about six weeks—close to two months now—and it’s going well. The pets are good too: Vicki Jo and Lou are doing great, and Chloe the cat is her usual self.

I’m recovering from a chest cold, and my voice is pretty much gone, so no choir for me tomorrow. Josh and I are still going to church, just not singing this week—since we missed Wednesday rehearsal and the men’s part sounded tricky, he’s sitting it out too. Honestly, it’ll be nice to sit with the congregation and just listen for a change.

That’s the update. Hope you’re all doing well, and I’ll try not to wait so long between posts next time.

I haven't been out here in so long! I actually had to reset my password. So anyway I hope everyone's doing well.

Hello everyone!

I hope that you all have had a happy and blessed weekend and that all the dads had an awesome Father’s Day. I was sad I didn’t get to see my dad today, but I did get to talk to him on the phone, which was really nice. He’s in the hospital, and of course, I can’t easily get places right now because of my ankle, so we’re both just trying to heal.

I had a rough start to the day, but it didn’t turn out to be a bad day. Once I took pain meds for my foot, it didn’t seem too bad, and this evening it’s not too bad either. I’m gonna make sure I take some ibuprofen before bed. Josh and I are getting ready to go to bed—he’s about to get in the shower, and I am just chilling. I already washed up and washed my hair a little bit ago. I have to go see my primary care doctor tomorrow, so we’ll be going out tomorrow. We need to get up kind of early. Mom will be here between nine and 9:30. So that’s how that goes.

But I thought I’d post and say that the day did get better. I was not feeling well this morning at all. I was in a lot of pain, and I think my ankle was pretty swollen—I could feel it inside the splint. When that happens, it makes it even tighter. They have it on good, but when it’s not badly swollen, it feels tight but doesn’t hurt. When it swells up, it does hurt.

I hope everyone has a good night tonight. Good night, everyone!

Emergency SOS: Your Lifeline on iOS | AppleVis

In this episode, Thomas Domville discusses the workings of the Emergency SOS feature on iOS. This feature is designed to be a swift and straightforward method for summoning assistance and notifying emergency contacts. Upon activation, it dials the nearest emergency service and transmits your whereabouts. For iPhone 14 models and newer, it’s capable of establishing a connection with satellite services in the absence of cellular or Wi-Fi signals.

Good morning everybody.

Josh and I are just getting our day started. The dogs haven’t even gone out yet—Marty will be here at nine. I had a rough night for some reason. I don’t know if it’s because I forgot to take ibuprofen before I went to sleep, or because I didn’t take any pain medicine before I went to sleep, but I could not get comfortable. It felt like my ankle was pressing against the splint like it was really swollen. Even putting it up on a pillow didn’t help. That’s kind of discouraging because I haven’t had a rough night like that in a few days. But I guess there will be some rough nights before this is over. I don’t know. 😕

I’m also going to have to be careful because my other knee, my good knee, and my good leg were bothering me in the night too. I think it’s because I’ve been pushing around so much with it. But now that Marty is going to be going out with Josh again, I won’t have to do that twice a day. I probably overdid it with that leg because it’s the only one I can use. It isn’t quite as bad this morning, but it was bothering me in the night. It’s like I can’t have that leg messed up; I need that one to get in and out of the chair and stuff. If something happens to that, I’ll be in big trouble. Lol. But like I said, it feels better this morning, so I think I’ll be fine.

Josh and I are going to listen to church this morning. We don’t have anything special planned for the day, just hanging out. Tomorrow, I have a doctor’s appointment, so I’ll have to wash my hair this evening. That’s not the easiest thing in the world for me to do, but I can manage.

I feel like all I’m doing this morning is complaining. I hope everyone has a blessed Sunday. 😊

Hello all!

We didn’t do much today. We just mostly hung out at home. But we had a bit of a discouraging time taking the dogs out this morning. We thought we could do it, but you have to cross the parking lot to get to where they go potty. Lou was not taking Josh back to the right place where Vicki Jo and I were sitting. And then, of course, when he takes Vicki Jo, she’s not in harness, so he was getting confused about how to get her to the right spot. So that was all a big problem. One of the ladies here, bless her heart, Sally, helped. She is on a walker herself and tried to get someone else who lives here to help, but they basically stated that it wasn’t their job to help us. It’s like, wow! Most people here aren’t like that, but this person, I think, has some problems. So anyway, that’s how that went. 😟

So now I was telling Marty there’s another door I could take Josh out of, but he doesn’t think I should start another route with Josh. We should stay on the same route so he doesn’t get confused. This door would put us closer to the potty spot and I wouldn’t have to cross the whole parking lot. As I was going down into the parking lot, I got scared because if I went the wrong way or whatever, I’d be stuck out there in my wheelchair in the middle of a parking lot. And also, I could tip over the chair, so that’s not a safe thing to do. So anyway, Marty said he would come morning and night, but the problem we’re having is the dogs peeing a couple of times. So we’re going to have to try to get them out in the afternoon too. This is all kind of frustrating. It’s not the dogs’ fault. 🐶 Anyway, enough of my complaining. We’ll figure it out, but we’re grateful that Marty will still go out with Josh and the dogs. We’re very blessed to have his help and other people around here who’ve tried to help. 🙏

Anyway, we watched Dead Poets Society tonight together, Josh and I. 🎬 We just had Hormel chili for dinner. 🌶️ And so that’s how that goes. I hope you are all doing well. Tomorrow, we’ll get up in the morning and get the dogs ready to go out with Josh and Marty, and then we’ll listen to the church service. I’ll be happy when we can start going back to church again, and I’m sure Josh will too. Take care, everyone. 🌟
