Genealogist. Artist. Here for some news and stuff.

The blue-collar workers at the Scranton Army Ammunition Plant in Pennsylvania, USA, receive a humble word of gratitude from Ukraine‘s President Zelenskyy. They and their families are part of a struggle which is happening on a global scale.

God bless them all! God bless America!

DOJ on #Jan6:

More than 1,265 defendants have been charged in nearly all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
• Approximately 452 defendants have been charged with assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers or employees.
• Approximately 718 individuals have pleaded guilty to a variety of federal charges.
• 139 individuals have been found guilty at contested trials. Another 32 have been convicted following an agreed-upon set of facts.

This an absolutely fascinating story of the history of iodized salt, one of and maybe the most successful public health campaigns of all time.

The national election protection hotline (I do legal volunteer work for them) asked me to share information about them on social media.

Here is their website: https://866ourvote.org

If you are a lawyer and want to volunteer, there is a place to contact them.

(I like doing back office research, so I spent a few dozen hours last year researching changes in state election laws and writing up summaries so the lawyers working the hotline have the information handy.)

@Lightfighter @GottaLaff A damages award that vastly exceeds Giuliani's net worth serves the same purpose as those 350-years-to-life prison sentences you see sometimes. Which is to say none, as a practical matter, but it does demonstrate the level of utter contempt in which society holds the defendant, and that's sort of worth doing. Somehow, "give them everything you've got" doesn't have quite the same emotional punch as "give them a hundred jillion squillion dollars." Giuliani will be broke at the end of this, and Freeman and Moss will have a lien on anything he makes in the future. That works for me.
@meltedcheese @GottaLaff Yep. And a lot of helping people to vote is finding out what small impediment is stopping them. For some, they can’t miss a days work. Lots of people don’t have the luxury of thinking. Oh, I’ll take an hour off & go vote. They know that their voting lines are going to be several hours long or orl hours away. For some a simple postcard to voters is enough to tip the hey I should do this scale, for others might need money for a babysitter. Talking to people IS key #VOTE
