Hi, I'm Seedy-threepio, better known as Seedy. I'm a tech geek, fighting game lover, audiophile, text to speech enthusiast and maths nerd who loves to laugh and socialize. I'm 22 years old and have no eyesight. I am a sucker for old school hardware, software and TV; mainly late 90s/2000s era. Interested in Swedish language and culture; I hope to eventually move to Sweden.

Is it any coincidence that the Keybase shutdown announcement was mere days after the Zoom CEO got the zoomies and crapped out that mass layoff email? Ever since Zoom acquired Keybase for their crypto infrastructure they've put the product on the backburner and now life support. Nextcloud is here to stay but there's no way to map it as a network drive with the desktop app. Webdav support is always a thing, but with everyone but Dropbox offering network drive support you'd think it would be there.
My bet for the Super Bowl: one team will beat the other in a violent sport. A disturbing number of people will care far too much about this small victory. Many people will eat way too much food and drink way too much alcohol. The following Monday will be very unproductive. No one's opinion, be it for, against, or uncaring about the violent sport, will change. The corporations behind it all will make a lot of money.
A few months ago, I posted a little notification sound I'd made. I believe it was one of my first toots on this here instance. Well, Here's another one, hot off the press.
The problem with phrases like 'So as you can see' and 'If you look here' is that they imply that 100% of your viewers have the power to see. Have you ever thought that a small proportion of your viewers, or any future viewers, might not have that power? Make a habit out of describing your content. This includes adding alt text to images you post on social media sites that allow it, including Mastodon, and giving spoken descriptions of anything that might be in your videos. Your computer's showing an error message? Read it out so people can hear it, don't just make people pause the video to read it themselves; not everyone can do OCR! #ContentCreation #a11y #accessibility #blind #blindness #visualimpairments

@kirb This is what happens when I try to run Legacy Update on Windows 2000 SP 4.

Alt text: Internet Explorer 6 on Windows 2000 showing an error message reading: The Windows Update service encountered an error.

8024400A: SOAPCLIENT_PARSE_ERROR - SOAP client failed to parse the response from the server.

Visit the homepage to confirm that you have completed all prerequisites for using Legacy Update.

@datajake1999 I just installed Eloquence 3.0 from your keybase, but the voices aren't showing up in SAPI4.
I made this #Windows sound scheme in the middle of last year. I've been trying to figure out how to make an executable installer for the scheme, similar to @freakyfwoof's, that automatically applies the scheme. Can anyone help me do this or guide me on how to do it?
Note: these are all my own sounds, composed by me.

@MutedTrampet I had a Samsung flip phone in around 2008 or so that had a ringtone where all you could hear was a fly buzzing around and in the end the fly gets swatted. Do you know of any ringtone like this? I Sadly, I don't know the model of the phone.
Is anyone in this house experienced with #Apache and #ReverseProxying? I'm having a very annoying problem with getting Apache to reverse proxy to an nginx server running in docker.
Well, it's a good try, I guess.
