I saw an ad in a shop window, "Television for sale, $1, volume stuck on full", I thought, "I can't turn that down".

It has been my mission for the past week to warn the public about the pending harms of the Instructure/Canvas hack.

I told 404 Media it is “the biggest student data privacy disaster in history” and am grateful I was able to share my concerns and help students.

If there's one thing Asus could have done for the #RogCetraOpenWireless it would be an honest-to-goodness USB type-A speed-nova dongle. Would gladly sacrifice the passthrough port in exchange for not wasting a precious type-c port, of which this AtomMan G1Pro only has two and the Startech hub I have, also only two plus 5 usb type-a's. Type-C to Type-A converters are not regulated, so a non-starter if frying controllers is to be avoided.

Amen; physical keys and button still rock.

As password field error messages go, this has to be one of the worst I've ever encountered:

"Please remove the symbol you entered and try a different one."

The Boring Internet

The internet you grew up on isn't dying. A commercial veneer glued on top of it is. A visual essay about what actually persists.

There have been a lot of people who thought that educational films would replace teaching. You could just have a whole series of film reels and put them in the projector and BOOM education.

Did educators reject movies? Not really. I think most teachers will show a video clip if it's helpful.

But, it's kind of shocking how little the technology of film is used in education compared to some of the early projections.
