I'm a caretaker for my ill wife. I used to be a programmer. Hopefully I'll be doing that again sometime.

I like computer games. Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup, Dwarf Fortress, and Factorio are my favorites. My dog is Gidget and she is the best.

My avatar is a person who doesn't exist. I'm real though.

This is your year non-trans folks. This is the year

to be the one to call out grandma for misgendering your non-binary cousin,

to point out how fucked up your uncle’s transphobic jokes are, or

to tell your mom that her excuses for deadnaming someone aren’t good enough.

It’s time to make this your problem. How are you going to stand up for trans people this holiday?

No matter how bad he is, it's important to remember Alex Jones is human. That means he's mortal, and if you take care of yourself and eat well the odds are good you'll get to read his obituary.
The only reason the GOP was ripe for Trump was because people like the Cheneys put power over principle. From Watergate to the Iraq War to fucking birtherism, Cheneys have been happy to undermine democracy if it gets them what they want.

Let's call it "Substack logic," the process by which a pseudointellectual argues "the Floyd protests" caused an increase in gun homicides among children by citing

<drumroll>

two papers that quite firmly lay blame at the feet of *the police* for killing people and then retaliating against the public for complaining about it.

After almost two years, despite having seen most of it many times now, the on-the-ground footage from the January 6th riot has lost none of its impact on me. Watching it is still a gut punch, every time.
@Pwnallthethings It's unfortunate that jurisdictions could have adopted measures that would make this more difficult years ago, but ignored election integrity activists who fought for hand-marked paper ballots and risk-limiting audits. We still don't have widespread adoption of measures that would improve the integrity of elections and the perception of the integrity of elections
After yesterday’s nonsense, I figured we all needed a pallet cleanse…meet Nobel Prize In Economics [Bel]…she’s my, now 2-year old, pandemic puppy and traveling companion, who’s come a LONG way in allowing me to earn her trust 💛

I'm not watching the world cup for reasons. But I don't want to talk about soccer. I want to talk about racism and erasure in major TV shows.

Shows set in New York City like "Sex and the City," "Girls," and "Friends," show an NYC almost exclusively populated by white folk. But real NYC doesn't look like that. 1 in 20 Black US citizens lives in NYC🤷🏿‍♂️

And American made shows like "Emily in Paris," show almost no Black folk in Paris. But:
