Another Public Transport Tragic.
I won't be trying contactless payments until my line gets them, but I did catch the new 18 bus to Avalon Airpot from Lara Station yesterday (and was possibly the first person ever to do it though I'm not sure). Was quite ironic that we drove into the airport behind the skybus.
Two dollar public transport trips in Melbourne. People are saying this! You want to go to the pool on this bus? Two dollars! You want to go home on the bus? Two dollars! No more travel that day? Total spend four dollars! #MakeItHappen #ThePeopleAgree

Someone needs to tell Up bank to lay off the cringe millennial vibe.

You are a bank. I have a mortgage and a significant amount of savings with you.

No, I don't want bank merch with "Get that up yas" on it. The fuck is wrong with you. (I wish I was joking).

So after thousand of Vline trips on the Geelong line, I just noticed that just after leaving Little River you can see the Melbourne skyscrapers in the distance. Never seen them from here before. Life is full of little surprises. #myki #vline #ptv #transportvictoria

I managed to clearly record the noise the little PDA thing makes when a Vline Conductor checks your myki. I'm not sure what fun can be had with this, but I'd imagine there has to be some.
I could bitch and complain about vline ineptitude and replacement buses when a perfectly good alternative train line exists, but it pales into insignificance compared to people who’ve lost everything in a fire. I’ll just thank my lucky stars I have a house to sleep in tonight.
On Sunday I did the Geelong line Replacement Bus dance with Metro. It's incredibly frustrating that there are tracks which they can use to run Vline trains (the old route pre regional rail) which for whatever reason (it can't be political... can it?) and instead make you take a bus from Wyndham Vale to Werribee and then a Metro Train to the CBD, turning a 48 minute trip into well over two hours. Lack of replacement buses, staff who although well meaning had little power to tell us what was going on when a bus took 20 minutes to arrive after the train arrived at Werribee. I have to do it again tomorrow and at least a couple more times before the West Tarneit works are over (West Tarneit... don't get me started).
