2800 words over the past two days. I'm working on a hard-ish scifi piece to help clear my brain of the ghost story :D

today was a 1500 word rabbit hole, haha. i managed to bring myself from a water harvesting prison colony on callisto to a 0.5g constant acceleration ship on its way to luyten-b. my head hurts, and i'm going to bed.

I finished the first draft!! I'm nowhere near the word limit, so i'll be looking for another venue to publish it, but that's no big deal. 11321 final word count, and a boatload of editing to do. But editing is tomorrow's worry :)

@ontploffing in re: medieval science fiction, it may seem silly, but there is an episode of Futurama which posits Da Vinci as an idiot alien, which has some interesting points in that direction. Just a thought.

i am edging towards the end of a 5000+ word short story, the ending has me sweating. I had a 4000 word limit for the submission, so it will obviously need a serious rewrite. endings make me anxious. rewrites, not so much. that's my day, how are all of you?
