Hello! Long time no chat! I am here I am here, and I have a lot to talk about :D
I'm going to be engaging in a project on rituals at the end of life and after death! This is suuuuper exciting for me because ritualising death is one of the ways we begin to process our grief. As we become an increasingly secular society, it's fascinating to see how those rituals shift and change in surprising and innovative ways!

Today's read: Sorry for your Trouble by Ann Marie Hourihane ❤️ so far, a lovely account of journalism on death

@HisAndHearsePress solidarity to you all from us here in Ireland ❤️
Just had a wonderful talk about death and deathcare on discord! It was so amazing to get to answer questions and share thoughts on this
@yesjohn I'm glad you enjoyed it! ❤️
@yesjohn I don't have a word exactly but the Irish language is built with you in relationship with the land around you, not separated from it. English feels very separate, but for example, in Irish giving directions, you need to account for your position on the planet. It's why we have a ton of different words for "hole" because it considers the relationship of the hole with the environment + what made it + where it sits.
Today I am thinking about the resilience of the human body and how, at the end, it teaches us how to die.
