Most nights, I can go one or two bus stops from home and find LGBTQ kids on the street.
The vile thing about this "groomer" panic is that it steals support from those kids. By design.
You know what else sucks? So many of us have devoted our lives to protecting youth only to be painted as predators in the eyes the public now.
We're targets, just for standing with a group of kids they've never given a damn about.
My own grievance isn't the main thing. But it does hurt.
As long as they keep writing em, I'll keep on covering the dumb bad mainstream stories echoing right wing propaganda on stories about trans youth.

Indiana lawmakers consider people who believe junk like "schools are installing litter boxes in classrooms for kids who identify as cats" to be as credible as medical experts, teachers, doctors, and parents.
That's always gonna be a hill we have to climb in this debate.

Vouchers are terrible public policy.

My inbox was obnoxiously full of hangers-on when the rumor was we were getting an #Indiana version of the #DontSayGay bill but now that it's just a lot of different bills criminalizing, bullying, and ostracizing transgender youth ... not so much.
Business as usual.
