🕯️On This Day in U.S. LGBTQ+ History: February 1 ⚠️ February 1, 2023: Florida’s expansion of the “Don’t Say Gay” framework was actively advancing By February 1, 2023, Florida lawmakers were moving forward with legislation to dramatically expand the state’s Parental Rights in Education law. What began in 2022 as a restriction on classroom discussion of sexual orientation and gender identity in early grades was, at this point, being prepared for extension through additional grade levels.
