So fanden 2022 in Deutschland über 5.700 Operationen im Kontext Varianten der Geschlechtsentwicklung an Kindern im nichteinwilligungsfähigem Alter von 0-9 Jahren statt. Im gleichen Zeitraum waren es nur 21 Operationen an einwilligungfähigen trans Jugendlichen im Alter von 15 - 18 Jahren.
