A couple years back I was inspired by @davatron5000's Bookshelf when I built the new version of Finley.im and built my own Shelf. Little did I know how much I would use it. I use it for reference (both self- and to refer to others), for tracking, and now for displaying progress through key books that I'm reading.

This has become one of the most important— to me— pages on my site. If you need a good book, peruse my Shelf.

Hey @davatron5000, I love the view transitions on your Bookshelf. That is all. Merry Christmas.
Anyone know if @firefoxnightly plans to support container style() queries anytime soon?

Today I am playing with #CSS Functions, Clamp and Utopia from @j98.

CSS Functions and Clamp

We have heard that it is coming, but it is now shipping in Chrome. Others will no doubt follow. CSS is gaining functions. For anyone that has built wi…

For anyone that has used a CSS clamp generator, this article is for you. With a not-terribly-complex calc(), you can provide four properties (min and max font size and min and max viewport size) and it'll provide you a preferred value!

Clamp with Max/Min Viewport

This website has been using CSS clamps for font size for years. For a fluid site, it is one of the best ways to adjust font sizes. Instead of changing…

I'll buy you coffee— even easier if you have BuyMeACoffee.com set up— if you can solve this CSS view transitions problem. Only needs Chrome support.

A repost would help too.

@jaffathecake @jh3yy Nice! We're closer. The transition to the details page works much better, but the transition back is… gross. Ideas? I updated the CodePen. https://t.co/XMFIGywNY4

Nice. Love the simplicity of TapBot’s implementation. Reminds me of the early Twitter days when “RT:” and “QT:” were manual ways to share a tweet with others and the apps add support to do it long before native support came from the API.

Rebuilt @selah’s chord diagram with SwiftUI. Got some cleanup to do before putting it to use, but I’ve got a foundation now. I would love to get a modern, interactive widget out sooner or later.

New on Finley, I am: “Sometimes it can be really hard to see God’s hand. Sometimes it is clear as day. The last couple months has been the later.”

We’ve got a couple announcements, y’all.

God's Hand

Sometimes it can be really hard to see God’s hand. Sometimes it is clear as day. The last couple months has been the later. I shared a song a few days…
