Cancelled my Setapp subscription. I like the concept but realized that it would be way less costly to just purchased the apps I really needed. Also I’m pretty sure this sends more money to the developers.
Always on the quest of the ideal minimalist home screen setup. I keep changing it, it’s a never ending process. I am trying to reduce the use of large widgets.

@josh9 iPadOS 26 solved pretty much all of the gripes I had with the device and the OS themselves. What irritated me the most was the apps differences between the iPadOS and macOS versions.

The best example I can provide is Microsoft Office. Lightroom was also atrociously irritating on iPad.

Don’t get me wrong, they are perfectly usable but just too different and having to overcome years of muscle memory just so I could use them on iPad finally brought me back to the Mac.

Been a while since I posted here. Let's just say that things were a bit hectic and busy.

Latest update to the geeky side of my life is that after years of championing the iPad Pro and Magic Keyboard as my primary workstation, I’ve officially returned to the Mac.

Don’t get me wrong—iPadOS 26 was a massive leap forward and finally gave power users the tools we’ve been begging for. But even with those leaps, I found myself tired of the small compromises and workarounds.

I just picked up the 14" MacBook Pro (M5), and it feels like coming home. Ready to rediscover that classic Mac workflow! Also decided to pimp its look a little with a @dbrand skin.

I love the Tech Woven case so much I actually purchased another color. This case’s design really reminds me of the Peak Design Everyday Case which I also loved very much. Slim, study and provides some fall protection.

So happy that Apple is still producing episodes for this series. I was afraid it would have disappeared after the disastrous « Thailand » episode.

Me talking to Apple this morning :

« Ok Tim. We need to talk. I have never been this up to date hardware-wise in regards to the products you ship. I have an iPad Pro 13 inches with the Magic Keyboard along with the Apple Pencil Pro. I have a Mac Mini M4, an Apple TV and an iPhone 17 Pro Max. I also have a pair of Airpods Max and AirPods Pro 3. Also got a Beats Pill speaker on release day.

Could you PLEASE scale down a bit on the yearly awesome tech drops? Please don’t make the iPhone 18 line up too impressive so I can at least skip a year?

I have zero willpower from my end so if you could help out a bit that would be much appreciated.

Thank you so much.

Luc.

PS. Are you releasing the iPhone Fold next year? Asking for a friend. »

Ok I maybe crazy here or just never noticed this but could it be that since iOS 26 the sound effect that pings when you put your phone on a Magsafe charger now occurs whether your phone is on silenced mode or not?

I can’t understand why it did not happen before but I just discovered and totally fell in love with Apple Fitness+. Man there are insane levels of variety in there. Totally into this.
