Over the weekend, Nazis were marching in the streets of Madison, Wisconsin. They felt emboldened by an increase in antisemitism and the poisonous words of Donald Trump. This is in America in 2023. We must stand up to hate, to fascism, and to political violence of all forms. No less than the future of our country and what we leave to our children and grandchildren is on the line.

A jury ruled that Trump committed violent sexual assault.

A judge ruled he committed financial fraud.

Now another judge has found (what we all saw for ourselves) that he engaged in an insurrection.

How is it possible that he's still a candidate for president?

It’s Transgender Day of Remembrance. So many of our community are taken from us through violence. It’s violence stoked by fear and ignorance. That means it is preventable. And that means we have a duty to try and prevent it. Love, understanding, empathy, kindness. Those are the values that will stop the violence, stop the hate. Embrace them. And remember.
A very happy birthday to our president, Joe Biden. You young ones have all the energy. Don’t listen to the haters. You’re doing a great job, kid.
According to The Daily Beast, not only did Speaker Mike Johnson fail to disclose any bank or investment account covering his many years in Congress, he also appears to have failed to disclose an all-expenses paid junket to speak at a conservative rally, or he used government funds to cover the expenses. Both are big no-nos. We need transparency. We need accountability.

GOP Party Chair Ronna McDaniel said the party would support Donald Trump as their presidential nominee, even if a jury convicted of a crime, if their voters chose him.

Do you hear how crazy that sounds? Their party has lost all moral bearing years ago.

Everyone is entitled to have an opinion, but not every opinion is informed by evidence & should be weighed equally.
Wow. A report by Roger Sollenberger from The Daily Beast reveals that the new Speaker, Mike Johnson, claims not to have ANY bank account or assets in his family worth $5,000. His financial disclosures for years have shown nothing. Is he really living paycheck to paycheck, or is he hiding his true net worth? I mean, the guy is in the top 12 percent of income earners. Something doesn’t smell right here.
Curiouser and curiouser. There are now several stories out there about the new Speaker, Mike Johnson. And they collectively are raising lots of important questions. I dive into four of them in today’s piece. And…wow. https://open.substack.com/pub/statuskuo/p/speaker-mike-johnsons-past-holds?r=1zr8b&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web
