Itโ€™s Transgender Day of Remembrance. So many of our community are taken from us through violence. Itโ€™s violence stoked by fear and ignorance. That means it is preventable. And that means we have a duty to try and prevent it. Love, understanding, empathy, kindness. Those are the values that will stop the violence, stop the hate. Embrace them. And remember.

@georgetakei we shall never forget our transgender siblings who have been taken from us. And we shall make sure we can teach the rest of humanity how important love, kindness, acceptance, compassion, empathy are...and how freeing it is to be ones true self. You are always a major inspiration, Takei, thanks for always being an awesome icon, and even better human being~!

@georgetakei

Thank you for being a highly visible ally.

@georgetakei how do you stop hate or rather, how do you prevent hate from developing in children? (and especially other people's children?)
@georgetakei I donโ€™t know many Trans People just one Trans woman I meet at work 2, 3 times and she was a nice person. Itโ€™s so stupid to be against them. They just want to life their lifes without discrimination. also one of my online friends is a gay guy from Florida I got him and his partner even added as friends on Nintendo Online. Why we couldnโ€™t in the 21 century let people be?
@georgetakei late last night I saw these floral tributes on the steps of my local city hall (Norwich, UK) in remembrance of our trans friends who have violently been taken from us. Publicly acknowledging their existence and that their right to an equal life was taken from them, is part of the journey society must take to fully embrace them.
