work today was absolutely wild

so i am treating myself

cold brew check in (lots more coffee)

i decided to wait the full 24 hours, so that i could water the coffee down and actually have more of it than if i’d taken it out any earlier

after a 24 hour soak then strain, it has a super mild flavor at first, but then a bit of a bitter kick

i really like it

it poured like molasses through the cloth so instead of holding the mason jar there to pour, i threw a piece of cloth over my largest measuring cup so it can strain a bit at a time

if you live in the south, just know that there are people like my mom out there who defend trans and queer people at every opportunity

with everything that’s been going on, it’s been nice to have at least one cheerleader who helps me remember i’m not totally insane

i hope you have someone like that in your life. if you don’t, reach out to somebody. it’s easy to feel alone if you don’t communicate (speaking from personal experience)

i’ve been wanting to make my own cold brew coffee for a while. so i got a bag o beans, ground em up (1 and 1/2 cups whole beans)(on a course setting), and dumped the grounds in a half-galon wide-mouth mason jar

poured 3 cups of cold water in, stirred. added another 3 cups cold water

going to check on it in about 16-18 hours to see how it tastes

i took a pictures for some reason. but hey it’s my first attempt, so why *not* document it
