Ein Freund und seine insgesamt 5-köpfige Familie verlieren zum 01.12.23 wegen Eigenbedarfskündigung ihre Wohnung. Nun wird es in Berlin ein echtes Problem, Ersatz zu finden. Bezahlbaren Ersatz. Gesucht wird vornehmlich in Reinickendorf oder Spandau. Hat jemand Rat ist hat eine passende Wohnung zur Hand?

@isfies Stimmt! (Mich nicht ausgenommen). Wichtiger Zusatz: Akzeptieren != Resignieren. Perfekte Gesellschaft und lebens- und Umweltbejahende Lebensweise wäre einfacher, wenn Menschen alle roboterartig rational wären. Stattdessen haben wir... uns. Und damit muss man halt irgendwie arbeiten.

Wer dazu neigt, sich über Dinge aufzuregen oder irritiert, schockiert und wütend zu reagieren, hat das noch nicht ausreichend verinnerlicht.

@Riedl I find that very strange. Credit on a paper should go to persons that use tools to write the paper, not to the tools used. LLMs are a new and exiting and all that, but in the end of the day, it is as much a tool as an spell-checker or auto formater. Humanizing AI has the huge negative effect of painting a wrong image of how the AI actually works, their capabilites, flaws, risks and dangers. #chatgptToolNotPerson #factfulAIrelationship

@cspannagel I like the rules, and I think 1) and 2) make the whole thing work. One question about 2) though: I wonder whether students that use ChatGPT should be held to higher standards that those who do not use such tools. Pro: They use better tools (in regards to producing convincingly sounding output + looking things up) Contra: They should not be punished for choosing from all available tools.

@mjgardner @BathysphereHat Hah, that's beautiful, you lifted the Cinese Room Argument (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_room) into the world of typing - it works :)
If you are into that kind of stuff - there are millennia of philosophy dealing with the question of "what does it mean to be something?", where nominal, structural and duck typing fit into.

@LinqLover @janboehm Ich stimme zu, dass mittelfristig mehr als reverse-chronological nicht schlecht wäre. Dann fände ich es allerdings gut, wenn man den Algorithmus selbst zusammenstellen könnte. Gerne einen Default, dann einen Slider von "Social Media is a tool" zu "Entertain me!" und für die Nerds dann noch ne feingranulare Einstellung.

@janboehm Was sollte Mastodon dann anders machen? Ich behaupte, dass Alternativen am Ende immer auf ein Algorithmus-gepuschtes Design rauslaufen, welches die Nutzer über deren eigentliches Interesse hinaus (mit Leuten interagieren / neue Leute entdecken) auf der Seite / in der App hält. Twitter & co maximieren die Zeit, die ein Nutzer mit Datengenerieren und Werbung anschauen verbringt.

@yahe Schritt zurückmachen, Prioritäten anschauen und dann danach zu handeln ist mehr Gewinnen als das Weiterführen/Zuendebringen eines Projekts :)

@programming_discussions Great read, really like the idea! I also like that this article is nuanced and does not fit into the "functional vs. oop" clash there sometimes seems to be - Difference in approach is primarily a chance to learn from each other! :)
