You can sort of tell from the pictures that these kids are going to go the distance
I mean come on
I had a childhood friend who married her one and only boyfriend right out of high school. They're still together today. And they always looked like this too 😆

The movie version of THE RIGHT STUFF (1983) dramatized Annie's struggles with her stutter.

The Glenns didn't like the movie, in part because they thought this scene made them look disrespectful. But I don't get that at all. I thought this scene was an eloquent statement that they had the kind of marriage everybody wishes they had.

John and Annie Glenn were married on April 6, 1943. They remained together until John's death 73 years later. Annie passed four years after that, at age 100.

Ah, one of my favourite movie.

I had the same feeling as you: that they had each other's backs, and that John Glenn was aware of his wife issues and supported her 1000%.

As you said: absurdly cute couple.

@ParadeGrotesque I first saw the movie as a kid, and that was the scene that made me think “that’s the kind of man I want to be.”

Not a Marine, not an astronaut. The kind of man who would tell the vice president to go pound sand if the vice president was annoying his wife

@jalefkowit

Such as fantastic movie, so many great scenes.

The one that I will never forget is this one, about Gagarin's launch:

To this day, the face of Korolev laughing in the middle of the rocket flames remains in my memory.

If you haven't seen it, I recommend the "Russian Right Stuff" on the history of their cosmonauts.

I had the pleasure of working with a movie-projector maintenance expert in Fort Worth, TX who had a stutter. I was told by others that he worked alone because of it.

I absolutely hung out with him while he installed the Norelco 35/70 and I thought we had a great time. One of the smartest humans I've ever met. And I just waited for however long he needed. Funny guy, too.

Never regret patience and welcoming differences.

@jalefkowit awww. wow that is rare these days.
@jalefkowit she looks a bit like Karen Allen/Marion Ravenwood from Indiana Jones!
@kkremitzki Yeah, she's got that tomboy thing going for sure.
