He/him. I read a lot of SF/F/H, and watch a lot of movies and TV. Then I review some of that at templetongate.net.

Amal El-Mohtar's second story collection is fabulous, full of beauty and love, but also anxiety and trepidation. Highly recommended.

@RunalongWomble Hello Womble. I am reading Amal El-Mohtar's story collection, Seasons of Glass and Iron. I've read thd title story before, along with a few others, looking forward to ones new to me.

John Chu's debut novel publishes next Tuesday, but I got an advance look courtesy of Edelweiss. More fantasy than science fiction, or perhaps more a metaphor about how people either work together, or against each other. Come for the family drama, stay for the food, or try to wrap your head around the wonky physics of the multiverse.

My latest book review is for a somewhat confusing book, even confusing for the characters within. I still enjoyed it, even with an anti-climactic conclusion.

@RunalongWomble I switched what I was reading when a library hold became available, and both have been twisting my brain into knots. Went from a digital review copy of John Chu's The Subtle Art of Folding Space to qntm's There is No Antimemetics Division.
@Alice At least my mother could spell, unlike other mother's Gaylon, Gayland, Gahlen, and other such nonsense.

Today's review is for Eden Royce's adult fiction debut, Psychopomp & Circumstance, an alternate history fantasy, with a slight bit of horror. Very good and recommended.

Today I review Stephen King's novella, The Life of Chuck, along with its filmed adaptation written and directed by Mike Flanagan. Both are excellent.

My latest book review is for Sarah Beth Durst's 31st novel, but I am fairly sure it is the first of hers I have read. It is YA, a portal fantasy, perhaps romantasy. I enjoyed it.

A debut novel I was able to read early thanks to Edelweiss. It starts out a bit sad, about a lonely boy, then (almost) becomes a beautiful love story, before it twists into horror territory. The traumas are lack of consent and bodily autonomy. At least it ends on a positive note.
