Womble of Liverpool - loves reading, science fiction & fantasy - also reviews at www.runalongtheshelves.net

@RunalongWomble Hi Womble, today's read was Volume 1 of The School for Extraterrestrial Girls by Jeremy Whitely.
@RunalongWomble just about to start some the Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde, as seemed rude for this not be my next book after he gave a free talk at the local library (https://mastodon.me.uk/@clare_hooley/116777452573767408). Bit worried I’m not well read enough for the series but hey, will give it a go (love Shades of Grey and Red Side Story).

He was taking about starting writing as starting off with setting yourself a ‘literary dare’ (e.g. a world without chairs) and his top tip was if you want to write make sure you keep a journal (as it happens, I do). Mind, I’m not a writer at my age and another point was writers are people driven to write. Finally, he promises he won’t die on us before we get ‘Wide Blue Yonder’, our sequel to Red Side Story! #bookstodon #writing

@RunalongWomble Howdy, Womble. Am about halfway through Hyperion by Dan Simmons, which is a classic I've meant to read for ages. As someone picked it for our SF Book Group this month, it's finally in front of my eyes, and I am totally engrossed by it.
