Twitter going borkeh… again. The ‘rate-limiter’ is not helpful because:
- a lot of people treat twitter as more than a social media. with all those useful threads/of people to follow, this will rate the experience
- minus those who treat twitter as diary, a lot of media/personalities / politicians / organisation etc connect via twitter
- say you were following some discourse, and then you were cut in the middle, just because of rate limiters.
- imagine what if wikipedia, did rate limiters…

Grow Your Own Services 🌱#Twitter has completely cut off public access to posts. Twitter accounts are now unable to share anything with non-Twitter people. Direct links no longer work, which is a disaster for accounts distributing public information.
This is a textbook example of why you should have your own server as part of a federated social network. Ownership means your public links will never break, federation means you can reach a mass audience.
