This slide from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3EZpcTZ4ZA describes the 10× developer pretty well:

“1/10th of the time, and achieving in 1 week what a team of devs used to deliver in 1 month”

One week instead of one month is not 1/10th of the time. Even considering dev vs. team, it’s: Overestimating the value.

Later in the video, he explains that about 60% of the code is technical debt that he needs to fix now.

So what would have worked after a month looked good after a week but didn’t work.

If you filter mails for unread, then ”Select“, the ”Select all“ button is not shown.

You cannot mark all as read (unless you manually select the mails one by one).

I’m sure the TouchBar needs some memory for its display but 1.2GB seems to be quite a lot.

CSS-media rules are broken in Responsive Design Mode in Safari 18.4 in a way that causes what I call “whiplash induced by head shaking“.

HOW ON EARTH DID THEY NOT SEE THIS WHEN THEY TESTED THE NEW VIEWPORT PRESETS FEATURE IN RESPONSIVE DESIGN MODE?!?

It’s ridiculous: Whatever feature #Apple touches, it is released more broken than it was before.

It wasn’t bad before 18.4. Not perfect, but it was fine. IT WAS NOT BROKEN.

(Does anyone know what the viewport feature does? Aaaah … I don’t care.)

Me too, @littlesnitch, me too …

If you tap the screenshot preview at just the right time, this is what you get …

(The darker bar at the bottom wasn’t initially there, it slides in when I tapped the all grey screen.)

@nico42
Just checked out you NFC.cool app:

• What’s this ”Download NFC.cool“ link good for?
• Shouldn’t the icon selection show the icon they will show?
• The license of ”Defaults“ is shown twice. (I‘d list them in alphabetical order)

Took me until now to understand that I downloaded the wrong app: I was looking for NFC.cool Tool Tag Reader … that explains my first bullet point … I didn’t know there are two NFC.cool apps.

WTF #apple

That UX is bullshit.
Saw the attached alert.
There is NO information in the alert on how to ignore that “problem”.

It was pure coincidence that I saw the “Open Anyway” in System Settings (WTF? That’s not a *SETTING*) → Privacy & Security → Scroll down → Allow applications from [App Store & Known Developers] when I checked if the latest update disabled “& Known Developers”

That should be an option in the alert.

It’s in the help but it is incorrect (there is no “Open” to click)
