
Sending "please come back and use my app" notifications, to people who do not have an actual human reason to do that, will cause a brief uptick in your metrics while people respond to that notification by opening the app, realizing they didn't have a reason to do that and there's nothing in it for them, and then either going back to ignoring it, maybe disabling notifications or uninstalling.
Doing this gains you nothing. No sustained growth, no user trust, nothing. You get a blip in a line.

I’ve been considering a switch to Linux for Desktop and Android for mobile. Your podcast helps me understand some of the increasingly noticeable pain points over the last few years. Some things straight up just don’t work. Sad that it’s become so prevalent. Keep up the great podcast!
