@donieosullivan I would be interested in knowing whether taxpayer subsidized institutions that are home to many official twitter accounts (eg *.gov in the US) should be creating mastodon instances. Why should communication with taxpayers (or reporters) be held in a privately held toxic mire? Would large institutions not be well placed to provide the IT infrastructure? If twitter's core of influence is because reporters consider being there crucial to staying informed, then what's keeping those informers on that channel? As a start, why does the White House, NASA, etc. not drop twitter for an official US govt mastodon instance?
Watching the Musk man discover that Apple charges 30% for any use of the App Store, and calling it a « secret tax » is hilarious. I don’t like that 30% commission but it’s not secret and has never been. It’s also not a tax.
Not surprising that Musk wouldn’t know what a tax is, though.
In general, watching that halfwit repeatedly destroy his public image with his own tweets is extremely satisfying.

seriously, what's next for twitter, a poll on which racist slurs to allow and which to ban?
@zoesqwilliams Dang, I clearly messed up by picking kolectiva.social thinking it was going to be the was-once-aspired-to-be-among-cool-kids server when folks like Zoe Williams pass it over in their search for the anarchist crowd....
