@ErickaSimone @lax Accusing someone of bigotry because they're not educated in the specific nuances of an entirely different culture is a good way to ensure that they're not going to educate themselves further.
@ErickaSimone @lax It's a bit weird to expect people to know what the issues are, and what abolitionism is, when it exists entirely outside of their framework. If you're not interested in educating someone, fine, but I don't think that accusing someone coming from an entirely different cultural background, where racial differences are simply not relevant to the degree that they are in American contexts, of being racist is called for or helpful in any way.

Why I finally dropped Google Chrome

"Can I send your project to a colleague somewhere else because it's a very good summary" from a lecturer is probably a good sign.

Addendum: Shortly after I wrote this, the Attorney General wrote a letter to the Prime Minister, warning that the National Security Minister is illegally using his position to politicize the police, in violation of the terms set for him to have the position. I somewhat doubt anything will come of it, but people are definitely noticing what's happening.

My one-minute review (okay, maybe two minutes) of Alan Paton's "Cry, the Beloved Country".

We have to make sure that we don't let activists working towards a better future be intimidated into silence.

Further thoughts as the story develops: If Herzog gets Netanyahu to agree to step down as PM and to stop the judicial reform, that's better than nothing, but ideally the trial should still continue to completion.
