And yet here in “clean green New Zealand” we can’t even eat our local oysters due to norovirus from actually human shit in the water coming down the river from town. As bad as the Middle Ages

Just caught up with mom in the States. Find out that my cousin‘s daughter (German/Finnish on our side and Italian/French on her mom’s side), who happens to have a dark complexion was picked up by ICE outside of a Lowe’s in NC. Her husband is a Marine, currently deployed. She was released already thanks to some serious phone calls from the base. Lucky for her but others not so lucky. Fuck this shit!

Curiosity Cracked Open a Rock on Mars And Discovered a Huge Surprise

A rock on Mars spilled a surprising yellow treasure after Curiosity accidentally cracked through its unremarkable exterior.

Absolutely delicious. My wife isn’t a huge fan of the preserved lemons so using the bloom orange and making the candied orange peels (sugar and lots of cinnamon) are a hit.

Dinner tonight is Moroccan tagine of lamb. Cardoons on the bottom - that I grew from seed just to make this dish (the ultimate slow food). Blood orange from our tree - slices in the tagine and candied for serving time. Olives from our trees and brined at home. Parsley of course from the garden.

I think I’m going to give up trying to get back into a tech job. The market is messed up and Silicon Valley is not a beacon of hope or progress. The 80s and early 90s dream of the internet bringing us all together is over. Local hardware store, butcher or landscaping looking just fine.
Ajvar mixed with feta cheese. Oh my!
