But hopefully it won't come to an acquistion. To be clear: this was just hypothetical from my side, not an actual situation based on any news 😄

@tweetwee @theprivacydad @ente @techlore I kinda share your sentiment and sometimes think Proton is on it's way to becoming 'big tech' them selves... But I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and will see where it goes.

I agree with you about the disadvantage of acquiring (that's what the wink was for, but maybe it didn't come across like I meant) and am actually thinking of sticking with Ente for photos. Through referrals I've gained extra storage and have a sufficient amount for my pics for roughly 30 bucks a year (!). Plus, like your said, the matter of choice and not having all eggs in one basket is important.

@theprivacydad @ente @techlore Great write up. I loved my time as an Ente user: coming from Google Photos I couldn't point out any major issues or things I missed.

As a Proton Premium user I've recently switched away from Ente to Proton Drive Photos, but I still miss the functionality that Ente has. They are waaaay ahead of Proton Photos. Maybe Proton could acquire Ente and use their solutions? 😉
