So it continues. I read this evening that Sunak has stopped ministers appearing daily on the morning media round. They will only now appear when they have announcements to make.

Another example about how the tories want to escape scrutiny and accountability. The sooner they are out the better

excellent piece from Andrew Rawnsley this morning I thought. Very clearly outlined the stench at the centre of government and how a change of prime minister (or changes I should say) has made no real difference. If we thought things would improve after Johnson was ousted then we were wrong

Couldn't agree more about Sunak's judgement. As a ex-civil servant (although from a very long time ago) I every sympathy with those having to serve politicians for whom they have no respect to implement policies in which they have no belief.

So I have 2 takeaways from the Williamson debacle.
1) We already knew that Williamson was a very poor minister after his disaster in Education. Now we know he's also very, very nasty
2) Sunak's political judgement is really very poor. To appoint him in the first place was clearly a misjudgement. Sticking by him for so long was crass
