Don't worry about what other people think.
Find things out for yourself.
Do your homework.

Reporters and editors seem incapable of framing the #trumpindictment as a vital affirmation of the rule of law rather than some risky gamble with the legitimacy of our justice system. I haven't seen a piece suggesting that *not* holding him accountable might undermine public trust.

A fair number of people replying seem to misunderstand:

* "Do you support / oppose laws that..." is a policy question.

* "Do you support / oppose [personal behavior | medical treatment | activity]" is not a policy question. It is not asking for an opinion on a policy. It is asking a personal preference.

The one policy question WaPo asked did not find "most American support anti-trans policies favored by GOP." It found the opposite.

@GottaLaff Gotta join the chorus and say thank you. You do LA proud.
Opinion | Why I Changed My Mind on the Debt Limit

Congress shouldn’t be able to invoke an arbitrary dollar limit to force the president to do its bidding.

Good morning to readers. Kyiv remains in Ukrainian hands.

Some career news: I’m leaving NPR as part of the layoffs that dramatically reduced the company’s workforce.

I’ve decided to go back into Ukraine to keep reporting.

But this time, alone.

@staidwinnow @wrigleyfield Well, I know that. Just hoping a different messenger might help.
@wrigleyfield https://mastodon.social/@Popehat/110226079733667640 Maybe Ken is a little less condescending for you.
Serious Trouble episode (with a re-recorded section after settlement) about Dominion dropping today. We didn’t talk about:
* No trial result would have had the judge ordering Fox to apologize on air
*No trial result would have resulted in Fox being punished for damage to democracy
*. No trial result could have ”established facts” as true or false for all purposes in America
If your expectations for the legal system are not reality-based you’re going to be consistently disappointed.
@wrigleyfield @Teri_Kanefield The problem is not Teri's tone but your unrealistic expectation that the trial's primary purpose was to carry the torch for democracy and, for the press, entertainment and ratings. If Teri's attempt to educate comes off as condesecending it's a small price to pay.
@dangillmor NYT ought to just fence off a portion of the front page for MAGA puff pieces with a fancy border and title.
