There is no extremist too extreme for a flattering New York Times profile. This time it's Jim Jordan: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/04/16/us/politics/jim-jordan-trump.html

And the Times keeps wondering why people who care about democracy are in despair about the organization's relentlessly rancid political coverage.

How Jim Jordan, a Fighter Aligned With Trump, Fought His Way to Power

The Ohio Republican defines himself by his penchant for punching back, whether against allegations that he was derelict in a sex abuse scandal or attempts to prosecute the former president.

The New York Times
@dangillmor What a coincidence that this piece doesn't allow comments.

@dangillmor "Wrestled" his way to power? πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

For any "news" organization to bring up Jordan's time as a "wrestling" coach w/o mentioning the controversy surrounding it, is guilty of either malpractice or deliberate whitewashing. 😞

@MugsysRapSheet @dangillmor
If you read the article, you would see that The NY Times did cover the controversy. Not that it was an unflattering piece on Jim Jordan, but they did write about the issue of the wrestling controversy.

@wildmancal @dangillmor Thx. I don't have a subscription, so I couldn't read the piece.

Though honestly, their mentioning the "controversy" while Gym was a wrestling coach and yet STILL chose to do a puff-piece praising him only makes it worse IMHO. 😞

@dangillmor Jim Jordan belongs in jail not in the Congress.
@dangillmor I canceled my Sunday print and all digital subscriptions to NYT over things like this. We vote with our wallets as well.
@dangillmor Stop giving money to the New York Times.
@dangillmor - This is ridiculous. Might as well do a piece on Hermann Goering admiring his fine art collection. Jesus, what’s wrong with the Times these days?
@dangillmor NYT ought to just fence off a portion of the front page for MAGA puff pieces with a fancy border and title.
