I’ve been programming for way too long. Is it still meant to be this much fun? Rubyist since 2006, working for Resource Guru.
So who do I know that I’m going to see at Rails World?
@FREEZE64 It’s not April 1st, is it?
@thomasfuchs.at I’m both.

@StooCambridge Carrot cake, Stoo?

I’m already the proud owner of one of your pieces, but I wouldn’t object to adding another (my wife may disagree).

@InstantArcade I had a list somewhere of all the machines I wanted to cover, but it’ll take time to get through them all.

Definitely want to cover the NES, SNES, Master System and Megadrive at some point too; if nothing else, to contrast development for consoles with doing it for computers.

I’m seeing this as a project that could last me the next decade easily.

@InstantArcade VIC-20 is on the list, as is the Aquarius. My criteria is basically “can I emulate it”, because there’s no way I can get physical hardware for every machine.

Just putting this out there… I’m currently working on a site to teach programming for and on vintage computers and consoles.

I’m going to do it anyway, because it’s fascinating to me and I’ve wanted to do it for ages… but is this something anyone else wants to see?

Initial target systems:
- ZX Spectrum
- Commodore 64
- Amstrad CPC
- BBC Micro
- MSX1

I plan to add way more over time, including the Amiga, Atari ST and some consoles from both generations. One step at a time.

@andycroll Very in theme with Rails for Zombies… damn I miss that site.
@yukihiro_matz Bring it on!
@JenMsft Happy birthday!
