@thenewsdesk @top-stories-in-news-thenewsdesk I'm still confused on what exactly the United States' argument is on why Palestine shouldn't be recognized as a country.
Biden ostensibly claims he supports a 2 state solution and this would accomplish that. He's not going to get Israel to agree to recognize Palestine, they've made that entirely clear.
@gulovsen It tells you that these same older people would be saying the same thing to Vietnam protesters and Civil Rights protesters.
“We do not need allies more devoted to order than to justice.” Martin Luther King, Jr.
@jalefkowit I would much rather help all the kids that want to escape from those towns, escape from the crushing weight of both poverty and the terrible backwards ideas forced upon them by their parents.
Everyone who wants to get out should get the assistance they need to do so. That's my stance.
@jalefkowit Hmm, i wasn't expecting to be so mixed on the article.
Because Andreessen's stance is such trash and I only feel bad for all the people stuck in those small towns, unable to escape because of money or other reasons.
But then I have to confront the author's idolation of small towns and the small mindedness and terrible aspects of humanity they preserve.
The "legend, lore" and all the rest they provide is largely bigotry and other things we absolutely shouldn't be preserving.
In addition to reducing CO2 output by our industries, a variety of different efforts to improve carbon capture technologies continues.
One team at the Max Planck Institute have been trying to develop a synthetic CO2 fixation pathway they can apply to bacteria and scale up.
They have successfully improved their THETA cycle by two orders of magnitude to convert CO2 into acetyl-CoA.

Few synthetic CO2-fixation pathways have been tested in vivo. Now, the new-to-nature THETA cycle is designed, realized in vitro and modular implemented in vivo. This cycle involves 17 enzymes, including the two most active carboxylases known so far, to produce the central building block acetyl-CoA using CO2.
@jascha Hmm, I must not be using the right keywords, because I can't find anything on this...fossil statue?
I am also very intrigued to learn more.
@toplesstopics @georgetakei The Gamecube came out in 2001. There are people born on the day it came out that have been able to drink alcohol in the US for 2 years now.
So...yeah, that's retro.
