The Fritz Thyssen Foundation has fully granted our application for a publication cost subsidy for the volume 'What was Artificial Intelligence? contours of a research field 1975-2000 in Germany', which is based on the conference that took place at HU Berlin in 2022.

The book is edited by Martin Schmitt (Uni Paderborn) and me and will be published in the #ComputerArchaeology series this year.

@stefanhoeltgen Hallo Thomas Schulte im Walde,

schade, dass der Text unkommentiert eine (Default-)West- zu (nachgeordnet)Ost-Einstellung liefert:

„Der Leser wird chronologisch durch die Veröffentlichungsjahre der vorgestellten Homecomputer geführt und fühlt sich gerne erinnert an so prägende Namen wie Amstrad, Atari, Commodore oder Sinclair.“ –– „Und dabei begegnet er auch DDR-Computern.“

Ist der DDR-Computer in der Listung nur die Randnotiz und _daher_ nicht chronologisch einsortiert, oder ist das nur in diesem Text so? Wenn ersteres, sollte es im Text entsprechend diskutiert werden, wenn letzteres, bitte fixen.

@3rz Die Veröffentlichung ist "leider" schon 9 Jahre alt. Das Buch sollte eigentlich in der vorherigen Nummer (die einen Retrocomputing-Schwerpunkt hatte) besprochen werden, kam aber zu spät.

Den DDR-Computern wird im Buch derselben Raum wie den anderen Systemen zugeteilt: Der KC-85/3, der in der Ausstellung des OCM zu finden ist, hat 4 Seiten bekommen: Zwei, auf denen das Gerät und seine Geschichte vorgestellt wird, und zwei mit Listings zum Abtippen.

@3rz Achso, im Buch ist der KC natürlich gemäß der Ausstellungsreihenfolge im OCM eingeordnet - also chronologisch (obwohl das nicht meine bevorzugte Ordnung wäre).
