In 2018, a group of Russians were able to donate to Johnson's bid for the Louisiana seat he eventually won as the money was funneled through the #Texas-based American Ethane company.

Steven BeschlossThe longer it takes the courts to hold Trump accountable for inciting violence against court staff and refusing to respond to a gag order, the more damage it does to the justice system and undermine the public’s belief in justice and the rule of law.

Trump is getting worse, more dangerous, more bent on inciting violence. This is not a presidential candidate; this is a criminal defendant seeking to save his own skin no matter how much damage it causes. The media must stop pretending this is in any way a normal presidential horse race.

My concern is with the journalists at CNN, and what they do in response to this kind of maneuver.
Do they make a strategy story from it? Is that the right frame?
Or is the news the outlandish idea of impeachment in the abstract, with evidence to come later in the process?
First the action, then the cause of action, is pretty Alice in Wonderland of them. To me that's the news.
