Reminder that if you also regularly get intrusive thoughts like "I'm sorry for being such a shitty person", you shouldn't give it much weight. Broad, unfocused guilt like that doesn't make you a better person, just a hurting one.
Try to take concrete steps to improve youself if you need to, but beyond that? Cut yourself some slack. You're suffering enough.

Classmate: Why aren't you ever coming out with us when we're hanging out in town?
Me: Yeah, why aren't I?
I never did get explicitly invited. ...It also occurred to me later that I may have come off as sarcastic, but I genuinely meant it as "I don't know how this 'hanging out' thing works".
@mynameistillian I always like the explanation of the problem that magnifies that point of view. Say, that instead of three doors, there's 1 million. And the presenter doesn't just reveal one goat, they open 999998 goat doors, leaving you with the choice of picking the one they didn't open, or staying.
Shame I can't get a million goats tho.
@sophie It's ok, if it's large enough they can just spin up a second /24 network! ...Surely with a different network prefix? It wouldn't just be a new DSL hookup with its own NAT, right?

@mynameistillian Very hard choice, but it's got to be panettone (with a dozen other things tied for second).
Every Christmas I get whole big one for myself if I can, even if it's a cheap homebrand one. Not for any holiday-related reason, I just like it a lot and I'd eat it all year round if I could, but stores don't stock it. It's sooo fluffy, in a great spot between bland and too rich, and it's amazing dipped in milk or coffee.
