Used the trolley jack method to remove old fence posts, but instead of screwing the piece of 4 x 4 to the old post we used extra large c-clamps to hold the 4 x 4 to the post. Worked great. I think the high lift/farm jack with chain would have been faster/easier, but I didn’t have either.

Now to rest, before we start with setting the new posts tomorrow.

2026 Property assessment values came out last week in our county. We've lived in our house for 18 years, the largest increase in valuation we've seen YOY until this year was 9%.

This year, they increased the valuation by 80%. That is NOT a type-o. Our county already pays the highest tax rate in our state, more than 20% of the next highest. I'm not receiving 20% more services than those other counties, so what are they doing with all that money?!

Here's hoping they don't go with a flat tax rate increase.
