I had a two-night, three #hike camping trip to #AnzaBorrego over the weekend, but the weather forecast for tonight included 35mph winds with gusts to 50 along with heavy rain, so camping in a wash and hiking through wind-scoured canyons didn't sound like a good plan, so we cut the trip short.

Went out hiking Palo Verde Wash in the desert with friends yesterday. A surprising number of flowers were blooming for this time of year, including so desert milkweed. I didn't see a monarch but did see a queen.

How is it even POSSIBLE that in the US of today, POTUS needs to tweet that the Holocaust happened? I have no words for my outrage that hate is spreading to this extent, in this land, where so many of our ancestors sought refuge from Nazis.

The filibuster or the John Lewis Voting Rights Act.
The filibuster or a federal living wage.
The filibuster or abortion rights.
The filibuster or democracy.

This should not be a hard choice.
