Rather than going through the chart toppers countdown style, we’ll move sideways instead: one song per country at a time, performed by homegrown artists.

Two years later, they teamed up with singer-songwriter Pun on another ballad “Milky Way”.

Family sticks together, and that’s what the three Uzama brothers from Nigeria do. Shallipopi and Zerrydl already made names for themselves, so they propped up their youngest brother Famous Pluto in his debut street-hop EP “Uzama the 3rd”, with “Ewo” being the lead single.

The Irish post-punk/indie-rock band Gurriers made a name for themselves at this year’s SWSX, following the release of their debut album “Come and See”. The single “Top of the Bill” entered the homegrown chart last month, ahead of their European tour this summer, which will take them across Ireland, UK, Germany, Portugal, and Belgium.

The co-ed quintet Allday Project made a stunning debut into the K-pop scene, with their first single “Famous” entering the South Korean singles chart at №.5, outperforming many veterans. Will they end up being as famous as they had hoped before this breakout? We’ll have to wait and see.

Filipino singer-songwriter Maki has released his latest single “Kahel na Langit” (Orange sky) ahead of his debut album “Kolorcoaster”, due out later this year. With another song “Bughaw” (Blue) from late last year, we can expect songs about all the colors in a rainbow in the album.
