In our house, the Yule tree stays up until Epiphany, as the Founding Fathers intended
Shoving some laundry in the washing machine and telling my brain "There! I have done a productive thing today!" with the exact same energy as Gene Wilder in Young Frankenstein shoving his hands into his dinner saying "There. Now I've touched it. Happy?"
Note- it is absolutely ok, and sometimes very helpful or necessary, to take breaks in combat when playing RPGs. If it's been a bit IRL, just take a break at the next top of initiative.
If Dragonball Z can split a fight into a dozen episodes with ad breaks, you can pause once or twice a fight to give everyone a bio break.
