@georgetakei there are 100s of millions of guns in circulation and they aren’t going anywhere, and the 2A is here to stay. What to do? I’d say: 1) raise the purchase age for all guns to 21 (like alcohol & cigarettes), 2) enhance background checks, 3) increase waiting periods, 4) restrict the type of weapons available for purchase (similar to the previous assault weapons ban). Sadly, 4 seems like a long shot. Perhaps 1-3 could eventually gain bipartisan support.

@Mxhrad @bulwarkonline I think it was Jimmy Carter that observed that Trump makes people feel good about their prejudices, which isn’t a particularly desirable quality in a leader (or any human).
