I wonder if there should be a visibility option which makes a post visible to everyone who follows either you or the person you're replying to, and possibly to everyone else who also responds. Then you'd just be talking to the other people in the room, so to speak, like you would in person, but not hiding your reply from people you might want to see it.

OTOH, the setting would undoubtedly confuse some proportion of people. Maybe a large one.

Occasional reminder, especially for people here on kinkycats.org, that adding proper content notes and marking your nudes as "sensitive content" isn't prudery, but required.

If our admins don't enforce this rule, other, more mainstream, servers _will_ hide either your account or our whole server from their users. They might even fully defederate us, making us invisible to them, and their users invisible to us.

For the same reason you can't have nudity in your profile picture or header.
