Not trains, but Eurostar can be expensive:

The Harwich - Hoek van Holland ferry is worth considering. I eventually decided against it, and booked a Flixbus in one direction, Eurostar in the other.

+1 for SNCB international and Railfinder

I booked a train trip from my home town in the Netherlands to Lyon and back for EUR 138 in total, so roughly EUR 69 per direction. I booked late - I will be traveling in 2 weeks.

The same return trip by plane would be EUR 252 and that does not include transportation to/from the airport. There would be a 4 hour wait time in Paris on one way.

via Mons(Mons)
You can take a regional train via Mons(Mons) in Belgium to Quevy just before the French border. From there you cycle to Maubeuge station in France. for regional trains to Paris, among others.

via Charleroi
Another option from Belgium is from Charleroi by regional train to Maubeuge.

via Luxembourg

From Luxembourg City, trains with bicycle seats regularly go to Metz and Nancy.

via Lille (Lille)
You can take an Intercity from Antwerp to Lille. You may have to change in Kortijk on the same platform. . From Lille, you can take a regional train (TER) to Paris. In Amiens you have to change platforms. The station has no elevators. Only on Saturdays and Sundays there are two through trains between Lille and Paris. Departures from Lille at 09:14 and 19:14 and from Paris-Gare du Nord at 10:21 and 18:28. All these TER trains depart and arrive at Lille-Flandres station.
To France
Until bicycles can be taken on the Eurostar from Amsterdam to Paris, France is difficult to reach with a bicycle on the train. You are dependent on regional trains with many changes: also regularly to another platform without elevator. In France, many stations have no elevators.

@otho
There is is information on this website, updated recently: https://wereldfietser.nl/actueel/fiets-in-de-trein

Summary: you can't take a bike on the Eurostar (at least not unfolded, see @cycling_on_rails ) There multiple regional train routes across the border that can take bikes. Takes longer but you will get there.

It's in Dutch, I will (auto)translate for you.

@stefanlindbohm

I would love to see this Flixtrain connection on railfinder (it's a combi of a flixtrain and a regional train)

@stefanlindbohm

- customizable transfer times (up to 3 hours is not strange - in case the connecting ticket is expensive and/or the previous ticket is likely to be delayed, or you risk getting stranded overnight otherwise).
- customizable transfer times per specific transit station.

Bonus
- an option to include buses, like Flixbus or Blablacar.
- avoid high-speed trains
- avoid specific high speed trains (eg avoid the Eurostar but not the TGV within France)
