The Comet is Coming, Cambridge Junction 8th March 2023. Incredible live energy, an amazing blend of cosmic jazz and electronica, a perfect antidote to a slushy snowy Wednesday
Personal Trainer at Cambridge Portland Arms, 28th February. First date of this tour and a joyful experience from start to finish. #PersonalTrainer
Great show from Mogwai at Cambridge Corn Exchange last night. Mogwai Fear Satan and My Father My King in the same set was a treat. Also amazed to see Brainiac support, 26 years after I first saw them #mogwai
Sad to hear about Tom Verlaine's passing. One of my favourite guitarists, his playing was magical. Thankfully I saw Television a couple of times. I had a search and I have more of his albums than I thought, I reckon I'll revisit these over the next while. #RipTomVerlaine
"However far away..." Due to the scramble for first night tickets for The Cure at Wembley Arena, and the fact I don't like sitting side on at large shows, I knew I'd booked some quite far back. Turned out it was the very back row! It didn't matter though as The Cure looked and sounded as great as ever. Setlist surprise was Faith, which I'd never seen them play before.

The #Stereolab venue takeover at EartH (3rd December) had a touch of an ATPFestival vibe about it, maybe because the headliners played in a low ceilinged room! I've seen a few Stereolab gigs in my time but this may have been the best, a big deep dive into the back catalogue, a brilliantly enthusiastic crowd and a band who are up there playing for fun. Ex Lab collaborator Sean O'Hagan played a lovely set upstairs in the theatre too.

Went to a record fair in Cambridge today, delighted to find a first pressing of The Go-Betweens Tallulah and that recent bumper reissue of The Dream Syndicate's debut

It's embarrassing that it's taken me so long to see Kathryn Joseph. Anyway she played a lovely show in Islington Assembly Hall last night (22/11/22), including all of her recent 'for you who are the wronged' album. Mesmerising support from violinist Anna Phoebe too #KathrynJoseph #LondonGigs
Eiko Ishibashi at London Jazz Festival at Kings Place, 20th November 22. A lovely set consisting mainly of her excellent soundtrack for Drive My Car. #EikoIshibashi #LondonJazzFestival #Murakami #Soundtrack

This is Legananny Dolmen on the edge of Slieve Croob, County Down, Northern Ireland. My pic was taken in 2017, the monument is around 5000 years old
