My problem with any new fortress in DF is that it always takes me so long to figure out how to use the site. I just stare and think; it takes me forever to actually start digging. New site paralysis.
The future site of the noble fortress of Pillarbald.
I wonder what will doom this particular fort?
I read through the enhanced zine version of #BrindlewoodBay last night after watching Murder, She Wrote and it's a lot of fun. I appreciate rulebooks that save the fluff for later and get to the rules.
I love the mechanics involved in the game and it almost feels more like a board game than a TTRPG. I would love to play/'Keep' this game at some point!
I've decided to use random generators and various ttrpg ideas I've had in my building of YarnTown - like this Wizard Hunter I drew a tear ago today.
I hadn't read much of Troika! yet and decided that Pocket Gods must be little deities that eat wizard biscuits and Wizard Hunters sought out Wizards for their bespoke biscuit recipes to nourish the pocket gods back into sizable deities
I decided to read through, "The Wizards and the Wastes" ttrpg this morning and I like it! It's a game of social magic and arcane bargaining, drawing inspiration from magic systems in Howl's Moving Castle and Ghibli films.
D&D magic feels very… static to me and it's been challenging to imagine a D&D world that is infused with magic like you often see in stories. W&tW uses IRL songs, poetry, writing to create new spells… for a cost.
