@niko gdi now I have to read through my instance’s ToS and find out if “kys” is banned speech
@niko Linux is definitely one of the OSes that seems reasonable to use as a daily driver in 2025
@niko only IoT lacks the Xbox stuff, ya
CR, LF, or CRLF?
Caerus and Harmony want to welcome you to their little campfire.... but goodness, who to sit with?
@niko o! switching to Enterprise might do it for you then

@niko if it’s about Windows 10 approaching end-of-life, you could just switch to the LTSC (long-term support channel) and extend support to 2032

the MAS website also has a quick guide on doing that: https://massgrave.dev/windows10_eol

Windows 10 Updates After End-Of-Life | MAS

This document explains how users can receive official updates after the retirement date of Windows 10 on October 14, 2025.

@niko fair lol

you can change Windows editions without reinstalling using option 7 of the Microsoft Activation Scripts though: https://massgrave.dev/#Method_1_-_PowerShell

Microsoft Activation Scripts (MAS) | MAS

Open-source Windows and Office activator featuring HWID, Ohook, TSforge, KMS38, and Online KMS activation methods, along with advanced troubleshooting.

@niko I highly recommend reading over the options available via SophiaScript to find performance optimizations for Windows 10/11: https://github.com/farag2/Sophia-Script-for-Windows

I also recommend using Enterprise editions instead of consumer editions since you can fully disable telemetry and Bing search suggestions by changing group policies and, if possible, the IoT builds which do not include most of the things I consider “bloatware” like Copilot, Xbox-related apps, the Microsoft Store, and advertisements
