Speaking of @bigzaphod -- you might not know this about him, but he's a great table-top campaign idea generator. Basically our system is: he gives me an idea seed (possibly partially fleshed out, partially not) and I turn it into a campaign and DM for the kids.
Yesterday the boys groaned with laughter when they realized the quest was a scavenger hunt. They had a blast finding and collecting "treasures" (trash) for the tiny (HUGE), cute (MAGNIFICENT) dragon Jeff who really just wanted friends. 😂

@dmoonfire I was my judge's first read--and first cut. The competition can definitely be emotionally difficult, but it's even more difficult I think when it's a DNF. It's hard to remember that these are opinions and not everyone will view your book the same way! Hopefully you find more readers who love your book anyway.

This is a #LowFantasy wilderness adventure with a bit of romance. It has #LGBTQ rep, #Disability rep, and #MentalHealth rep including: gay side characters, a non-binary tertiary character, main character anxiety rep, and disability also including a side-character who uses a wheelchair.

There's strong friendships & a strong sibling relationship, with tons of banter, but also a lot of classism and prejudice.

In a spot of good news, I finally finished this round of edits on the third book in my Stone Age epic science fantasy series! Now it gets sent to the probably-final round of betas, and my editor is already looking forward to getting it in a few months!

My wife has had this hobby project recently, where she’s been making a Mari Lwyd puppet, with a 3d print replica of the traditional horse’s skull as the base. For the first version this looks great, but she’s already planning adjustments for the next one!

Note: the Mari Lwyd is a south wales tradition dating back hundreds of years. You can find more about it on Wikipedia here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mari_Lwyd
